Kingsport offers its residents excellent opportunities for both primary and
secondary education. Kingsport City Schools, comprised of seven elementary
schools, two middle schools and one high school, is committed to its mission
to provide excellence in education for all students. All Kingsport City Schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The System has also received the Governor’s A+ Award each year it has been offered. In 1996, Money Magazine ranked Kingsport City Schools one of the top 10 school districts in the United States that offered academic excellence in an area with reasonably priced housing.
