Northeast State Community College
The Educate and Grow Scholarship is designated for graduates of high schools located within Sullivan County and the City of Kingsport. To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must graduate as a member of the most recent senior class and have a custodial parent or court-appointed legal guardian who has resided within Sullivan County of the City of Kingsport for 12 months prior to the applicant’s high school graduation date. An applicant must enroll at Northeast State as a degree-seeking student the fall semester immediately following his or her high school graduation and meet all scholarship deadlines.

Scholarship award amounts depend on the number of students participating in the program and the availability of program funds. Before a student can receive any funding from the Educate and Grow Program, he or she must successfully complete or test out of all remedial and/or developmental courses possibly required for college enrollment. ACT scores are used to place students into developmental or college level courses. ACT subscores of less than 19 will automatically place students into developmental courses.
